1st Place - Outstanding Achievement Title: Over the Border Over the border, Idomeni, Greek-Macedonian border, Greece. Migrants from countries such as Eritrea, Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan were barred from crossing into Macedonia along the Balkan route. Unable to cross the border legally and with nothing to lose, those caught by Macedonian forces climbed, at their own risk, over the Greek border, only to attempt to cross back into Macedonia at a secluded part of the fence.
